The N54 is not to be messed with..

The owner of this car has given it the full track treatment. I believe it's putting down way over 400hp so it definitely isn't stock. Besides the wing I think it's just gorgeous, but it serves a function so I don't mind it.

Here's some footage from the track day at Buttonwillow.

I fucking love the look of the E90 sedan. It is my favorite 3 Series.

E90 LCI is honestly the best looking 3 series IMO... And I drive a pre lci E90.

I DD'd a 2011 328i xDrive, I didn't like it at first, but for some reason I fell in love with it.

I think the angel eyes on the E90 M3 look SO much better.

I know the feeling, I was shopping for an LCI at first but all the LCI's in my area were base models that were overpriced. Ended up going with a nicely optioned Pre lci and at first I had some buyers remorse, but it's grown on me a lot . Especially the sparkling graphite paint! I just wish that color was offered on LCI's

They share the same front end as the coupe, it's a much more aggressive look

I really want to buy another at some point, that n/a straight six is addictive.

lap 2 record time .... (5 seconds later) limp mode. ;)

Yeah, I've been eyeing an LCI 335i but I really don't want to part ways with the 328i. On one hand the tuning for 335i's is amazing, while on 328i there's almost nothing. The 328i will be dead on reliable and I'm already pretty good at working on the N52. There's gonna be a tough decision in my future haha..

From what I've heard the N52 is pretty reliable, but the N54 isn't so reliable.

You don't mess with an N54; the HPFP messes with it for you.

Haha, they aren't as problematic as you think.... But it'll probably make you laugh knowing this guy has had some trouble with his car... But you gotta understand the crazy power levels he's putting out and how much track use it gets.

If it'll get you to go easier on him he also has an E55 AMG wagon haha

Later built n54's are much better than the earlier ones.. and the N55's are really reliable from what I've been hearing.. They aren't as tunable though.

Mine was replaced by the PO with the first round of "recalls" (BMW won't call them recalls), but apparently a lot of people still had problems with that first round of replacement HPFPs, so I'm still paranoid that mine is going to shit out on me, even if it is covered by BMW.

Yeah I would probably always have the constant fear of limp mode in the middle of nowhere if I had an early build n54

I was just joking, I know they're much more reliable then people think. An e55 wagon makes me hate him even more because that's one less e55 I could get my hands on.

Wow, that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing. I really really would enjoy an LCI 335i sedan. It's funny how all BMW straight 6s sound the same...you can always tell. I love it. And just think...that's with two turbos. They really hit a home run with these things.

If it does, they'll replace it, and by now the part has been fixed.

No problem man! Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. The twin turbo inline 6 is a beautiful thing. The sound is amazing, this particular car is straight piped and it just sounds like an exotic 0-60.

I was gonna say...it would have to be in order to get that kind of sound out of it haha. Buddy used to have a 335i coupe 6 speed M Sport, loved that thing. Had a tune and intake, with the exhaust flap coded to be always open. That thing was fun as hell. It's awesome to see what its capable of with some heavy mods.

I'd love to get into an N55 E92 M-sport.... That way it'll be a more reliable car and I can still tune it, although there aren't as many options on parts.

Fully aware on that, just not looking forward to the potentiality of it occurring at an inopportune time.
